What questions should I ask?

Before deciding to volunteer in research you should ask just some of the following questions:

• Who is sponsoring this study?
• What is the drug and/or device being studied?
• Who reviewed and approved this study?
• What could happen to my health if I participate?
• How long does the study last?
• Do I need to fast?
• How often are study visits?
• Will I be compensated?
• What kind of procedures are part of this study and what are their risks?
• Is my information kept confidential?
